1. What are the different standards used for EDI transactions?
Ø For US:- ANSI ASC X12 and for UK:- EDIFACT,TRADECOM
2. What is a business process?
Ø A business process is a series of linked software (and possibly human) activities that accomplishes a business goal.
3. What are the different kind of integration tools used for EDI transactions?
Ø GENTRAN, GIS(4.0,4.1,4.2) Gentran Integration suite, sterling Integrator(5.0,5.1,5.2)
4. Can we make mandatory elements as conditional in a map?
Ø No, we cannot make mandatory elements as conditional in a map
5. Which service uses map in the business process?
Ø Translation service uses map in the business process
6. What are different envelopes used to send an edi file and how are they used?
Ø There are 3 types of envelopes:-
ISA- Identifies the sender and receiver using EID transmission. It is an interchange control header
GS- Identifies the application type for the interchange for both sender and receiver. This segment is also used to provide control information. It is a functional group header.
ST- identifies the type of document you are sending or receiving. It is the beginning of the document, or transaction set. It is a transaction set header.
